My usual (very well-planned) weekly schedule got a bit mixed up due to a trip into a nearby small city, creating three strength-training-free days in a row. Since I workout in the morning between 9:00-10:00, what that means is one hour each day has been freed up for me to do something else. I could sit on my comfy chair, feet up, reading and eating bon-bons, and though it sounds tempting, is really not my style. Instead, I have several projects on tap.
The painting project continues, though I see the light at the end of the tunnel. Should have that wrapped up by late Saturday. In between applying bright orange coats of paint to boards, I will be canning marinara sauce as well as spiced nectarines. It's time that I replenished our bread supply, so I will bake a couple of large loaves. And I've gotten a head start on making a couple of pans of vegetable lasagna which will go into the freezer for later dining.
Now that I've listed it all out, it doesn't seem like a lot - but there are the regular, daily tasks to squeeze in there as well: dog-walks, preparing and eating three meals per day, perhaps a load of laundry, washing dishes, taking a very short nap after lunch... My way of celebrating Labor Day.
