I was gifted this morning with a rare moment: when a newly-formed frog emerges from his watery home and ventures into the world of the air-breathers. This little creature, no bigger than a Tic Tac, rested on the edge of the dogs' pool, seeming to contemplate whether or not it wanted to take that first frightening leap into the unknown. Behind and below him, his brothers and sisters still swam about, nibbling on decaying plant material; some of them dragging along tiny and as yet useless legs.
He suffered me taking copious amounts of photos, both with my phone and macro lens on my DSLR. When we returned from our morning walk, he was gone. I hope he lives long, devours untold numbers of insects, and sires thousands of babies.
