It's a relief to be back home. There's a low grade, just-below-the-surface feeling of stress that comes with being in the city - even under the most normal of circumstances. But seeing what is happening in other cities around the nation, that stress becomes magnified when one cannot quite as easily flee, when one is more dependent.
Having said that, in other ways, things seem to be returning to normal. We were able to eat inside restaurants, masks aren't quite as prevalent (though many people, including those riding their bikes or driving alone in their cars persist in wearing them). It was good to spend time with friends, to check on things in "our" neighborhood, to weed and clean up the patio, and to stock up on grocery items that are unavailable to us local to our ranch.
Until next time, Tulsa.
Tadpole update: They are still happily swimming in the blue pool...still the same size.
