But then, most afternoons in August are steamy, right? It's another "white" sky today as well. I'm wondering if the smoke from the fires in Colorado are causing the white-out, or is it some other atmospheric event?
Critter report: At last! I spotted the first yellow and black garden orb of the season today. She's spun a beautiful web across the (empty) cattle water tank. She looks terribly skinny; we will have to provide her with a little sustenance... Both garden orbs and "night spiders" (Hentz Orb Weavers) have been disturbingly scarce as yet. August is usually their high season. It's the time when we have to dodge webs strung across the driveway and our walking paths and when the garden orbs seemingly appear out of nowhere. Maybe they've just gotten a late start.
